Well, it's been a while since I last wrote a blog entry (actually, I don't think I've written anything since I moved to Mallorca).

I'll give a more detailed recap in a different blog post, but for now, I just wanted to start documenting the trial of my new plant based diet.

So, last Friday (5th October, for the record), I thought I'd have a chilled night and rent an action movie, so I had a look on Google Movies and saw a new film called "The Game Changers" produced by Arnie, and Jackie Chan. About a UFC fighter that discovered everything he'd been told about protein was a lie... I didn't realise that it was a documentary, but after 20 minutes I was hooked.

They interviewed all kinds of athletes who have opted to switch to a whole-food plant based diet, and the results were astounding. More energy, better recovery time from injuries, and much much healthier.

Over this summer, I've had huge problems with my thumb (diagnosed as osteo-arthritis) so I've not been able to play much tennis (although drinking more water seems to have helped with the inflammation and pain almost overnight.)

Anyway, after watching the documentary, I've decided to give it a try to see how a plant based diet will help (if at all) my joint pains, stress and overall health and energy levels)

So, for the record - I'm weighing in at 87kg and have been really stressed with a few projects that are now, nearly complete.

I'm two days in, and will check back every few days with an update.

Fingers crossed

Just over a month ago...
Well, it's been just over a month since I decided to risk everything and really "go for it" with the new business.

There's been a number of times where I have seriously thought "what have I done?" and considered looking for a job, or going back to some of my older clients for work, but I have to stick to the plan. It's only been four weeks, and the amount of work I've managed to get through has been immense.

The hardest part is when I keep looking at my bank balance and reality hits home, that I only have a few months before I run out of cash, but I've been here before, and managed to build up a business, so I just need to commit and go for it. It's always going to feel like a struggle in the early days, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run.

The biggest downside so far is that I have had to sacrifice my tennis for a month (only playing once a week) but I can't argue with the results, the progress is certainly visible.

So Easy Design

I've managed to get the whole site finished, and I have to say, it's looking great... Check it out  So Easy Design Site

I've also made some great progress on the editor.

  • Clients can manage their domains, and it also checks to see if the domains are registered (AWESOME)
  • Images can now be uploaded, and also a full search and download of Getty Images Stock library
  • Drag and drop columns (something I wasn't sure how I was going to do, but it's done)
  • All of the page management is sorted, adding, editing, reordering, deleting
  • Also managed to get it so the menu auto-creates a drop down if there are too many links

Not's not quite time to start marketing it yet, but I have now got a few clients set up on the new system. Lots more work to be done, but I reckon a few more weeks and I'll be close to it been ready for proper launch.

My Pub Events

This has been slightly on the back burner for a few weeks, but I've still managed to get loads done. The main bit being the event scheduling.

Pubs / Venues can now set up recurring events, weekly, daily, every other week , monthly etc, and they all show up in the search results just from one database entry.

The direct debit functionality is also set up and ready to go... Just need a few final touches for the front end, and we could be ready to get out there and sign up some pubs. Rock 'n' Roll...

And finally....

On top of all that, I've managed to get some mini projects signed off for my recruitment client, and also squeezed in the hours for Great Gear Store.

So all in all, although my personal life has taken a bit of a hit, work wise, I think we can class October as been a massive success.
