There's been a number of times where I have seriously thought "what have I done?" and considered looking for a job, or going back to some of my older clients for work, but I have to stick to the plan. It's only been four weeks, and the amount of work I've managed to get through has been immense.
The hardest part is when I keep looking at my bank balance and reality hits home, that I only have a few months before I run out of cash, but I've been here before, and managed to build up a business, so I just need to commit and go for it. It's always going to feel like a struggle in the early days, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run.
The biggest downside so far is that I have had to sacrifice my tennis for a month (only playing once a week) but I can't argue with the results, the progress is certainly visible.
So Easy Design
I've managed to get the whole site finished, and I have to say, it's looking great... Check it out So Easy Design Site
I've also made some great progress on the editor.
- Clients can manage their domains, and it also checks to see if the domains are registered (AWESOME)
- Images can now be uploaded, and also a full search and download of Getty Images Stock library
- Drag and drop columns (something I wasn't sure how I was going to do, but it's done)
- All of the page management is sorted, adding, editing, reordering, deleting
- Also managed to get it so the menu auto-creates a drop down if there are too many links
Not's not quite time to start marketing it yet, but I have now got a few clients set up on the new system. Lots more work to be done, but I reckon a few more weeks and I'll be close to it been ready for proper launch.
